Ben Arfa is said to have fallen out with manager Alan Pardew, as well as some of his teammates.
The Frenchman was reportedly involved in a heated exchange with Pardew following the 4-0 home defeat to Manchester United, and is understood to have had more words following Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Stoke City.
Ben Arfa remains popular with a section of the Newcastle fans, but has lost the backing of a number of teammates unhappy with his attitude and workrate.
Pardew has no plans to play the midfielder again this season, and Inter Milan are understood to be monitoring the situation.
Pardew has used Ben Arfa as a substitute in the last two games, having withdrawn him at half time of the recent 4-0 defeat to Southampton.
The Magpies are on a run of four consecutive victories without scoring, and Pardew is likely to face a backlash from supporters during this weekend’s home clash with Swansea City.
