Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was hugely impressive in charge of Burton Albion, though the Dutchman has found life frustrating so far since his instillation at the helm of Queens Park Rangers.
While there has been some good performances, the 3-1 loss at home to London rivals Fulham highlighted some serious issues.
Currently, they are a team bereft of huge amounts of quality as well as any natural leaders. Having faced relegation from the Premier League last season, after a spell yo-yoing between the top flight and the Championship, it was always going to be a long term job.
Charlie Austin has finally left West London, meaning the club can move on from what was becoming a lengthy saga. The Rs' transfer policy over the last few years has been well documented, and despite the initial struggles, exciting times could lie ahead under their Dutch coach. If given enough time, an injection of youth could spark proceedings at Loftus Road, where things have so often looked stale over the past few years.
While that is no doubt a long term job, the emergency window now open to Championship clubs can afford the chance to freshen up a squad with some astute additions. That is exactly what what the West London outfit are in dire need of. Not far north from their Loftus Road base, Premier League chasing Arsenal, as ever, have an exciting hub of youth players aiming to break into the first-team.
Perhaps the Championship club can help their city neighbours out in that regard. With the Gunners chasing the title and a plethora of top quality stars already in the ranks, loaning some talented youngsters out could provide them with some vital experience.
After all, look at how both Hector Bellerin and Francis Coquelin benefitted from brief stints with Championship clubs.
Considering all this, here are FIVE Arsenal players QPR could do with signing on loan...
TAFARI MOORE
Tafrari Moore has been a huge part of the Gunners' early dominance in the U19 Uefa Youth League. Though they have now been knocked out and the 18-year old fell foul to an injury, he was hugely impressive.
Not without confidence, the marauding right-back has even compared himself to Barcelona stalwart Dani Alves. With Rs skipper Nedum Onuoha struggling when balls are played in behind him, the England youth international would bring an injection of pace.
Granted, injury may scupper any deal. However, if he can make some good progress in his comeback, a move away to get back to full fitness could help.
JULIO PLEGUEZUELO
The latest youth star to swap Barcelona's famed La Masia academy for Arsenal's Colney base, Julio Pleguezuelo will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Cesc Fabregas and Hector Bellerin.
What better way to do that than a brief stint toughening himself up in England's second tier? As you might expect from a Spaniard in this day and age, he's composed when in possession.
However, as a central defender, he could use some experience in a more physical setting.
DANIEL CROWLEY
Daniel Crowley is one of the most talented players in the Arsenal youth team, having drawn comparisons to Jack Wilshere. He was recalled from a loan spell with Barnsley, though could do with another spell away.
Like the England international to whom he's drawn comparison, the 18-year-old is combative and robust, though possesses excellent technique.
He could provide the creative spark so desperately required in West London, as well as brining enough energy to stand up and be counted when things begin to look a little flat.
KRYSTIAN BIELIK
Probably the most well known of the Gunners' young stars, the highly rated Polish midfielder was a £2.25m signing for the club.
A defensive midfielder with a fine reading of the game, he could introduce a determined steel to Loftus Road. The club are clearly missing strong characters, and his penchant for sitting in the holding role would provide more of a shield to the backline.
Matt Phillips and Junior Holliett, while inconsistent, can be lethal wingers on their day. However, they do not track back an awful lot, leaving the team exposed on occasion.
The 18-year-old midfielder would certainly bring protection, allowing Hasselbaink to get the best out of his flying wingers.
ALEX IWOBI
Alex Iwobi is a Nigerian international and has had a spell in the first-team, making him quite coup should the Rs be able to land him.
Though Arsene Wenger's decision to blood him in the first-team was encouraging, the nephew of Jay-Jay Okocha is still parked behind illustrious names in attacking areas at the Emirates.
His skilful, dynamic play in the final third would be a perfect foil to Connor Washington at Loftus Road, even on a short-term basis.
