Tottenham’s Andros Townsend.

The Super Hoops boss secured the England U-21 international late on as he continued his rebuilding of the club’s squad.

The winger has struggled to force his way into Spurs’ first-team, making just ten appearances this season.

Despite his lack of action, Redknapp is confident that he can make a significant impact at Loftus Road:

“Andros is a kid with a fantastic future,” he is quoted by Sky Sports.

“I like Andros an awful lot. He’s a winger, he’s strong, he’s quick, he’s brave and he scores goals.

“He’s unlucky that he’s got Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon keeping him out of the team. I think eventually he’ll become a big player.”

Townsend himself is happy to have made the move, and is looking forward to linking up with Redknapp:

“I worked with Harry at Spurs – he gave me my debut – so it was a no-brainer when QPR came in for me.

“Harry has brought me in to do a job for him. I’m confident in my own ability and I want to repay him.”

QPR enjoyed a hectic deadline day, with deals for both Jermaine Jenas and Christopher Samba arriving at the club from Spurs and Anzhi Makhachkala respectively.

The duo followed Yun Suk-Young, Tal Ben Haim and Loic Remy to the club to complete a busy month for the Londoners.

They were also close to bringing in West Brom’s Peter Odemwingie, who was convinced that he was set to complete a late move. However, no official agreement was reached between the two clubs.
