Wigan manager Uwe Rosler believes that all of the pressure is on Arsenal heading into the two sides’ FA Cup semi-final this weekend.

The defending champions face the toughest draw possible for the last four, with the Gunners widely seen as favourites to lift the trophy at Wembley ahead of the Latics, Hull and Sheffield United.

But Rosler’s men have been bouyed by Arsene Wenger’s team’s current poor form, which has seen them slide from title contenders to a side battling to finish in the top four.

The Wigan boss – who masterminded a stunning win away at Manchester City in the last round – says that the pressure is not on his players, and that everyone expects Arsenal to triumph:

“We’re going to Wembley and we’re meeting a top team in the Premier League,” he is quoted by Sky Sports.

“We are the massive underdog but we have presented ourselves so far in a very, very good way. We’ve made our supporters proud and we’re going to Wembley; we can’t lose, we only can win.

“Everybody highlighted the fact Arsenal now really have to go for the FA Cup and win the FA Cup. Their own players said that this week and obviously that puts a little bit of extra pressure on Arsenal.”

Wigan won the FA Cup last season with a shock victory against City, but were relegated from the Premier League a matter of days later.
