Manchester City’s 5-3 beating of Monaco in the Champions League earlier this week was fascinating for English football fans for a number of reasons. Sergio Aguero’s revival was great to watch, while the sheer number of goals we were treated to from two attacking sides really was entertaining, but perhaps most interestingly Radamel Falcao put in a notable performance.

‘El Tigre’ was once considered to be one of the planet’s leading strikers following electric spells with Porto and Atletico Madrid, but a knee injury suffered shortly after he joined Monaco in 2013 hit him hard, and loan moves to Manchester United and Chelsea in both 2014/15 and 2015/16 left most thinking his time at the highest level was over.

It was sad to watch, but Falcao has been back to his best since returning to the Ligue 1 side, smashing 22 goals in all competitions for the red and white-clad outfit this term, including two vs. Man City at the Etihad Stadium.

This got us at FootballFanCast thinking: could the Colombian still cut it in England? So we picked a team in need of a striker (West Ham) and asked their fans if they’d gamble on the 31-year-old, and 55% would…

Falcao may have lost a yard of pace and he seems happy in Monaco – he recently revealed that he’s one of few players to turn down the Chinese Super League and its vast riches – but Irons supporters can dream, right?
