Amid the wealth of candidates linked with Wenger’s post, Rafael Benitez of Newcastle has emerged as a somewhat shock target. The Spaniard has bags of experience and a glittering CV – including that 2005 Champions League win with Liverpool – but we asked fans if they want to see the 56-year-old at the Emirates Stadium as the Arsenal boss’ replacement in our exclusive poll, and the results are conclusive.

A whopping 76% have no interest in him taking charge of the club. There are other names in the mix, but Benitez has shown in the past that he can handle big-club pressure after famously taking charge of Chelsea on an interim basis and winning the Europa League despite voices of discontent from the stands.
