Jesse Lingard and Wembley, Wembley and Jesse Lingard. It's like Ross and Rachel, but without the countless many seasons of will-they-or-wont-they shenanigans in a trendy New York flat where nobody seems to actually go to work.

Indeed, Lingard's not enjoyed a particularly productive season under Jose Mourinho, making only nine starts in the Premier League and struggling to deliver when called upon.

But during his last two campaigns, the 24-year-old has developed a reputation for the big occasions, especially those at Wembley, with three goals in his last three appearances at the official home of English football.

That includes the second strike in Manchester United's 3-2 win over Southampton in Sunday's EFL Cup final, which saw Lingard put the Red Devils two goals up just before half-time until Manolo Gabbiadini inspired a Saints comeback - eventually ended by Zlatan Ibrahimovic's headed winner.

And as our infographic shows, it's not just Lingard's goals that have made a difference in United's last three trophy wins (2016 FA Cup, 2017 Community Shield and 2017 EFL Cup). He's also made creative contributions with four successful dribbles and five crosses flung into the box, done his part in keeping possession with an 86% pass accuracy and weighed in defensively with seven tackles - a big return for an attacking midfielder.

He may not be the first name on the team-sheet, but there's a reason both Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho have turned to Lingard on cup final days - when it comes to working hard and finding the net, he consistently delivers.
