David Beckham Hopes To Extend PSG Deal
Former England captain David Beckham is hoping to extend his deal at Paris St Germain past the end of the current season, as reported by Sky Sports.
The 37-year-old believes he still has a lot to contribute to the French league leaders for at least a further year.
Beckham made his first start for the mega rich Paris club in midweek against Joey Barton’s Marseille and received a standing ovation when he was substituted in the dying minutes.
The former Manchester United midfield man had plenty of offers after leaving LA Galaxy at the end of last year but chose to continue at the highest level with a six month deal in France.
Beckham will donate his entire wage packet to a charity in the French capital and has already endeared himself to the PSG fans.
Whilst understanding he only has a six month contract, the former Real Madrid and AC Milan star is determined to stay and enjoy the success PSG are sure to have in the coming years.
“I know I am under contract only for six months, but I really want to contribute to PSG becoming a great club,” Beckham told L’Equipe.
“At my age, I cannot get a two or three-year contract, I take each year as it comes.
If I still feel fit, I will go on playing.”
