Everton are one of the sides who could make a move for Hakim Ziyech in the coming days with his time in London under serious speculation.

What's the latest?

There are strong reports suggesting the Moroccan is one of the players who the Blues could allow to leave this month as Graham Potter looks to trim his squad down.

It is also suggested that a move to Newcastle United could be a possibility with the Magpies eyeing a potential loan deal for the 29-year-old.

However, it seems as if the experienced Moroccan is gaining a lot of interest from across England with the Toffees now credited with an interest.

Indeed, speaking on the House of Champions YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has claimed the Merseyside club could provide Ziyech with a potential landing spot this month:

"Yes, it's possible for him to leave in this final week of the January transfer window. There are some clubs interested including Everton, for example."

Moving up north?

It does feel as if Ziyech is now owed a move away from Stamford Bridge following what has been a difficult spell in the capital with Chelsea.

He joined on the back of some seriously impressive seasons in the Eredivisie with Ajax where he also shone during their Champions League campaigns.

However, he has never been able to hit those same heights in a Chelsea shirt with this season a damning indication of where his career currently lies.

Having only made 10 appearances in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge, the Moroccan has only seen four of them come from the starting XI.

Ziyech - hailed "fantastic" during the World Cup - has made three of his four Premier League starts since the return from the World Cup break, however, this could largely be down to Chelsea's injury issues.

And now the Blues have spent big this month of the likes of Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke, it does feel as if he could quickly become surplus to requirements.

There are reports that Anthony Gordon could be headed for the exit doors at Goodison Park this month and it seems Ziyech could be a potential upgrade on the youngster.

Although Ziyech''s game time has been limited this season, the Moroccan has provided over double the amount of shot-creating actions of Gordon, as well as completing more passes, and tackles per 90 minutes (via Fbref).

Everton find themselves in a really sticky position at the moment and perhaps someone with Ziyech's experience is what they need to help save them from the drop.
