Howard Webb has made the headlines again after a controversial refereeing display in the FA Cup fifth round tie between Arsenal and Liverpool yesterday.

The World Cup-bound official was widely accused of biased officiating in favour of Arsenal after failing to award Liverpool a penalty when Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain brutally floored Luis Suarez in the penalty box.

And he’s no stranger to being in the headlines for all the wrong reasons, which suggests he enjoys being the centre of attention, particularly as he knows he is the FA’s prodigal son who will be representing the country in this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.

But yesterday’s controversy at the Emirates had thousands of fans taking to Twitter to condemn his performance and question his reputation as one of the world’s best referees…

    I still wonder why we punish players for rough play buy nobody punishes referees (like Howard Webb) for bad or biased officiating.
