Those that think that the FA Cup has lost its charm should probably visit the city of Sheffield in the next few weeks, with the locals braced for one of the outstanding ties in English football.

Sheffield United booked their place in the Quarter-Finals following a convincing 3-1 ousting of Nottingham Forest in the 5th round, and will be drawn against their cross city rivals Sheffield Wednesday should they come through their re-arranged tie with Charlton.

Few bar the Charlton faithful themselves will be clamouring for an ‘Addicks’ victory, with many longing for one of the most important and eagerly anticipated Owls v Blades games in recent years. With a place in the Semi-Final at Wembley on the line, the stakes have rarely been this high and for both teams this could prove to be quite the occasion.
