Roberto Mancini is the latest candidate to be distanced from
the managerial vacancy at West Ham United after claims from his agent that the Italian
coach is not currently seeking work.
Mancini, 43, was sacked by Internazionale at the end of last season despite securing three successive Serie A titles.
The former Italy international striker's name has been strongly linked with the Hammers, who are seeking a new manager following Alan Curbishley's decision to resign on Wednesday.
But Mancini's agent claims that, although his client would like to work in England, he remains unavailable until his compensation package with the Italian champions is finalised.
The news comes hard on the heels of fellow frontrunner Slaven Bilic claiming he is in no rush to walk out on his current job with the Croatia national team.
"Until his contract situation is resolved with Inter, Roberto Mancini won't talk to other clubs. That's the way he is," agent Giorgio De Giorgis told Italian radio.
"Roberto loves England and London in particular, something which he has never denied."
Out of all the contenders for the job at Upton Park; would Mancini the most attractive proposition?
