Spurs star nips the rumours in the bud

Spurs star nips the rumours in the bud

Tottenham striker Darren Bent insists that morale in the White Hart Lane dressing room remains good despite the team's appalling start to the season.

Spurs are rooted to the foot of the Premier League table after failing to win any of their opening seven matches of the campaign, but former Charlton Athletic forward Bent remains optimistic about the future.

He said: "Everyone's still upbeat. There are things going around that there's unrest in the dressing room but everyone's behind the manager, and we're all behind each other.

"I've said on numerous occasions, I'm sure we'll be okay and we'll put it right sooner or later.

"It's disappointing, obviously, but we have to take positives and in some games we've been playing well enough to get something from games.

"When you lose to Hull City with goals like Geovanni's, there's nothing much you can do about that. It just seems to happen to us but I'm sure we'll put it right eventually. We know what we have to do.

"One win won't get us out of it. We need to start winning games so that there isn't a gap where you need to win two or three games just to have a chance.

"We've got a difficult game against Stoke but, if we prepare like we know we can do, and play like we did against Hull in periods, we know we can beat anyone."

These players never stop

These players never stop talking.

They never stop talking

They never stop talking because the media never stops hounding them with questions and we never stop reading their answers. It's not like the players seek out the media begging to give interviews. They can hardly walk ten feet without someone shoving a microphone in their face. I'm all for criticism, but let's keep the criticism about the right things.
