Myers mulls over latest rumours and rumblings
Anyone that has been a regular goer to White Hart lane this
season has never had a dull experience. It has been raining goals in this area
of north London, the only problem for Spurs fans in that it has been at both
ends.
Juande Ramos made a brave decision in light of poor defensive displays in bringing in pretty much a new back four. The signings of Hutton and Woodgate proved excellent additions but the age old problem seems to still exist when Ledley King is out of the team.
It is a problem that has become a curse of this football club for many a year and one that needs addressing and fast. When fit Ledley King alongside Jonathon Woodgate is as good pairing as you will find in the League but the problem is when King is out, Dawson, Chimbonda or Kaboul doesn't seem to be the answer.
I was interested to see in the Daily Mail this morning that Spurs had been linked with Manchester City captain Richard Dunne - as solid a defender you could hope to see, and one that surely would be a welcome addition.
The Irish star has been City's player of the year for the last three years running and has more than answered his critics, who felt he was overweight or his temperament wasn't quite right. Playing alongside the excellent Sylvan Distin seem to galvanise the player and he has carried on his good form this year alongside Micah Richards. It has been suggested that Dunne is one of those players who apparently is up in arms with the decision to release Sven from his duties and wants to move on in the summer.
Would Spurs fans welcome a move for Richard Dunne? Will his friendship with Robbie Keane sway any deal elsewhere; should the club make known their interest? Is the Irishman a more than an able deputy when King is out of the side?
