Have to know what the hell you are smoking Thomas. Yes there is no denying RVP is one hell of a fine player, and probably the best finisher in the PL, but this years player of the year...I don't think so. You look at what Suarez can and does do regularly as Bale has done since the start of the new year...both can create goals from nothing...as does Mr. Messi, both are unplayable when they have the ball at their feet, the same can certainly not be said for RVP. In fact most of his goals are put on a plate for him.

Yes his movement is fantastic for finding these spaces in usually a crowded a box but that isn't the only thing that makes a footballer. If the decision was being made at Christmas you're right, their would be only one winner, RVP, the same can be said for after Christmas, Mr. Bale, but unfortunately it is for over a full season and the only player out of the three mentioned that has played at a high consistant level of football for that kind of period is Luis Suarez, you can make arguements which every way you wish about teams winning things...but that's just it...that's down to a team, and certainly not one player alone, but as for footballer of the year, it didn't stop a certain David Ginola from deservedly winning it when Spurs finished 11th, and as you mention, it didn't stop Rvp from winning it, even if he couldn't help Arsenal to anywhere silverware or even anything like a title challenge.
