It’s been an exciting start to the new campaign and Matthew Glazier of www.bettingpro.com picks his Premier League XI including two Everton players

GK: Artur Boruc (Southampton)

A spectacular performance from the Saints keeper on Sunday ensured that Southampton go into the international break as a top-four team. It has now been 382 minutes of football since Boruc last conceded and he has five clean sheets including the one at Anfield.

DEF: Leighton Baines (Everton)

Scored two stunning free-kicks to win the points for Everton against West Ham, with the Merseyside club thwarting Manchester United’s attempts to sign someone who might yet be first-choice left-back for England at the 2014 World Cup.

DEF: Dejan Lovren (Southampton)

A toss-up between him and fellow Saints centre-half Jose Fonte, although the Croatian gets the nod after some sterling performances at the heart of the Southampton defence, with the latter scoring the only goal of the game against Liverpool during the team’s 1-0 win.

DEF: Ben Davies (Swansea)

The Swans have been hit and miss in the Premier League this term, although Davies has stood out in the left-back position and has also chipped in with goals against West Brom and Arsenal, with the Welsh defender likely to be in demand come the summer.

DEF: Michael Dawson (Tottenham)

Aside from the West Ham debacle, Spurs have been consistently strong in defence so far this season and Michael Dawson has played a key role alongside Jan Vertonghen, illustrating why Andre Villas-Boas was happy to let Steven Caulker leave the club.

MID: Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal)

Player of the month for September and richly-deserved after consistently strong performances in the Premier League and Champions League. Arsene Wenger must feel like Mesut Ozil wasn’t the only major signing of the summer.

MID: Ross Barkley (Everton)

Barkley scored in Everton’s 2-2 draw at Carrow Road and hasn’t looked back since, with Roberto Martinez determined to give the midfielder a chance to shine. Linking up beautifully with Romelu Lukaku since the Belgian’s arrival, the youngster appears to be playing himself into England’s plans for the 2014 World Cup.

MID: Yaya Toure (Manchester City)

Impossible to leave out after a spate of fine performances which raise the question as to why he was surplus to requirements at Barcelona. Toure dominated the midfield during the Manchester derby and has six goals on the board already this term.

MID: Oscar (Chelsea)

A favourite of Jose Mourinho who scored a brilliant opener against Norwich and now has three goals in his past five matches. Oscar should excel in the number ten role and is preferred ahead of Juan Mata in this position, with the Brazilian also performing in this position for his national team.

ATT: Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool)

A goal machine since the campaign began despite being less than 100% fit according to manager Brendan Rodgers. Fashioned a goal against Crystal Palace most recently, having also found the net against Sunderland, Swansea, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Stoke City.

ATT: Loic Remy (Newcastle)

The Frenchman is showing a deadly eye for goal in a Newcastle shirt and has been making the most of chances that come his way, with a quick fire brace ensuring the Magpies beat Cardiff last weekend and we can’t leave out a player with five goals in just four starts for the Tyneside club.
