Bastian Schweinsteiger has not had the best time in the Premier League.

Arriving into the failing Louis van Gaal regime at Manchester United, Schweinsteiger has struggled for fitness and form since coming to the United Kingdom and looks set to be forced out of Old Trafford by the ruthless Jose Mourinho.

Arguments can be made for either side about how Mourinho has treated the former Bayern star, but the end result is the same, he must find a new club before the window closes.

There was always going to be at least one high profile casualty when Mourinho arrived, as he continues his tradition of singling out an individual in an attempt to show his dominance at the club.

Schweinsteiger was the man who suffered on this occasion and it would be a great loss to the Premier League if he was forced to leave. We are rarely treated to the truly world class players in the English game and it would be a shame to see another leave.

His energy might have vanished, but Schweinsteiger could still do a damn good job for these FIVE Premier League clubs...

Everton

Idrissa Gueye has already been added to the Everton midfield but, with Gareth Barry ageing and James McCarthy short of form, they might yet delve into the market for another central midfield option.

Muhamed Besic has been ruled out for several months after picking up an injury in pre-season and Schweinsteiger could be the ideal midfield partner for the energetic, hard-tackling former Villa man, Gueye.

Their newly-found riches have seen Everton show great ambition in the market and the German could prove to be a real marquee signing for them.

Stoke City

Stoke's midfield balance is currently a little odd. The signing of Joe Allen has certainly added a dimension to their midfield, but their 4-2-3-1 shape doesn't really lend itself to playing both Imbula and Allen.

A 4-3-3 could be in the offing, as they look to fit their big money acquisitions into the side, and Schweinsteiger would be the near-ideal man to slot in at the bottom of the midfield triangle.

The possession-dominant Potters will benefit greatly from a player with such experience and ability to dictate the tempo.

Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp's fast-countering Liverpool side does not seem a natural home for a player who has lost his engine, but they could certainly benefit from his experience, even if he was only used from the bench.

Introducing Schweinsteiger late in a game would allow Emre Can and Jordan Henderson more freedom to burst from deep and the former Bayern man's passing between the lines would be perfect to set up Coutinho and Firmino's edge of the box antics.

Chelsea

Having already signed N'golo Kante this summer, another central midfield is unlikely for the Blues.

However, should Nemanja Matic or John Obi Mikel leave, Conte's side could be tempted to delve in to the market once again. Schweinsteiger would not start too often, but his ability to thread the ball into the forwards might just attract Conte.

After their midfield was so regularly dismantled last season, Chelsea might be thinking of how they can make their engine room more formidable.

West Ham

As West Ham embark on an intense Europa League campaign, they could be forgiven for splashing out extravagantly on Schweinsteiger's wages.

Although their options in the central midfield areas are good, and have plenty of depth, a player of the German's calibre simply cannot be passed upon. His nous, game management and underlying technical ability would be a superb addition and would add defensive security in the big games if allowed to sit and dictate from deep.
