IT. IS. HERE. FIFA 17 has landed, and we at FFC Towers are extremely excited. The past month has dragged on as we’ve eagerly ticked the days off our calendars, but the disks are, thankfully, now ready and the game is pretty darn good!

Now we’ve all had a few hours of friendlies and maybe a little bit of time for a foray into the online modes, Career Mode will take charge. The classic season-by-season challenge and the ability to build a squad of top players attracts most gamers and really is the solid spine of each year’s offering.

Of course, you can pick a side like Real Madrid and blow opponents away by snapping up all of the best talent, but one of the more rewarding ways to go about Career Mode is to play it smart by capturing exciting, young players and making the most of their growth potential.

We all need a leg-up every now and again, so here are FIVE top Career Mode gems you may want to hoover up…

Charly Musonda

musonda

With five stars for skill moves, Musonda will be a joy to use. The youngster is on loan at Real Betis from Chelsea, but after one season it’s likely you’ll be able to prise him away, with the Blues boasting a fair few attack-minded players. His 88 rating for pace will also improve.

Marco Asensio

asensio

He may well be the new star emerging at Real Madrid, but Asensio is in the realm of young players at big clubs that are relatively easy to prise away on FIFA. Indeed, the 81-rated ‘No.10’ will be some way behind a few of his rivals in the pecking order at the virtual Bernabeu, so there’s every chance gamers will be able to lure him.

With the potential to reach an overall rating of 89, Asensio could be a real gem!

Bruma

bruma

Pace is often a vital commodity on FIFA and seasoned players of the game will know all about Bruma. His impressive form over the past year has seen his rating land at 77, while he has the potential to reach 87 - making him a great buy for patient managers.

93 for pace is his standout trait, but his four-star skill moves are also useful.

Renato Sanches

sances

Despite him being a big summer signing at Bayern Munich, Sanches can be snapped up early doors on loan, which makes him a viable option for midtable managers in the Premier League and further afield. With pace and physicality, he’ll be useful as one of a midfield three - so long as he has some defensive cover.

Adrien Rabiot

rabiot

Don’t worry about using the right stick too often with Rabiot, with the curly-haired Frenchman by no means a trickster. But he’s a metronomic passer of the ball and although the potential to reach 85 overall isn’t ground-breaking, he's a good long-term option if you can get him early on.
