How do you follow up on one of the most incredible achievements in sporting history?

Well, that is what Claudio Ranieri and his Leicester side are tasked with doing next season and a successful Champions League run could extend the Foxes' fairytale even further.

History tells us, however, that when any comparatively 'small' club adds European football to their already busy schedule, their luck can start to run out.

Leicester have a squad lacking depth so must increase numbers if they want to survive in one the most competitive, talent filled football competitions in the world.

Here are five players that could help Leicester cope with Champions League football

Ahmed Musa

Rumours have been circulating that Leicester have made a club record bid for Ahmed Musa.

The 23-year-old currently plies his trade at CSKA Moscow but has attracted interest from some of Europe's top clubs.

The pacy Nigerian has been likened to Arjen Robben for his speed, skill and ability to cut inside from wide positions, making him a perfect fit for Leicester's quick, counter attacking football.

Michael Carrick

While this transfer may be dependent on whether or not incoming Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho wishes to keep Carrick, the 34-year-old would certainly be a key addition to the the Leicester squad.

Granted, age may not be on Carrick's side but his wealth of European experience, alongside talent that has yet to deteriorate would be vital in the new experience that is Champions League football for the Foxes, especially if N'Golo Kante departs the club.

Islam Slimani

Slimani may not be the most well known name in football but the Algerian's goalscoring record for Sporting speaks volumes of his talent. The 27-year-old netted 27 goals in 33 games in the Portuguese league last season and has attracted interest from a number of top European clubs.

Ranieri may look to bolster his attacking options ahead of the Champions League next season and Slimani could be the perfect attacking companion for Jamie Vardy.

Arkadiusz Milik

Arkadiusz Milik has reportedly been a long term target for Leicester, according to the Ajax forward's agent David Pantak, who told the media this week:

"Leicester has a fantastic scouting (network) and they've known of Milik since he was 17 years old."

However, Pantak also remarked that no formal offers have been made for the Polish International, who has netted 22 times in the Eredivisie this season.

Steven N'Zonzi

Former Blackburn and Stoke midfielder Steven N'Zonzi is thought to be a target for Leicester, who have noted his previous Premier League experience as well as his excellent form in European competition with current club Sevilla.

The 27-year-old Frenchman would be an astute replacement for N'Golo Kante, who is likely to leave the Foxes this summer.

A major setback in any deal between N'Zonzi and Leicester could be a €21m buy out clause that Sevilla will looked to recoup before letting their star man leave.
