Tottenham were unsuccessful in their pursuit of Christian Benteke during the summer months, with the Belgian forward signing a new contract at Aston Villa.
But Spurs are in need of something new or at least different in attack. Roberto Soldado thus far hasn’t produced, though that is partly due to the setup of the team. Nevertheless, Spurs are likely to lose Jermain Defoe in January and Emmanuel Adebayor isn’t the answer.
Tottenham were able to impress many with their summer activity, and if this trend continues in the league of failing to get anything out of Soldado, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the club re-enter the market for another forward.
