Gus Poyet gives Jozy Altidore the nod up front instead of Stephen Fletcher for Sunderland, whilst Colback comes into central midfield for Seb Larsson and the Black Cats backline remains unchanged from a clean sheet display away to Aston Villa at the weekend.

Chelsea also  don an unchanged back four, but Frank Lampard  comes in for Michael Essien and Willian for the injured Oscar. Torres failed to score against Southampton on Sunday but starts up top again for the Blues.

Sunderland lineup: Mannone; Bardsley, Dossena, O’Shea (c), Brown; Ki, Colback, Gardner, Borini, Giaccherini; Altidore

Chelsea lineup: Cech; Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry (c) Azpilicueta; Ramires, Lampard, Willian, Mata, Hazard; Torres
