Likely to be a controversial choice, but the much-vaunted and highly-decorated former Wales skipper and Manchester United legend at the age of 39 is looking every bit his years this season. His docile and ineffective performances in midfield effectively cost the side points against both Norwich and Tottenham this season and were it not for Jonjo Shelvey’s red card, it probably would have against Liverpool at Anfield too. Sir Alex Ferguson’s latest admission that Giggs is capable of playing on for ‘at least a couple of years’ should come as a worry to fans all over, for this is not the way he should be remembered.
