Another summer gone, another transfer window closes, but did your club get who they needed?
UT Coin Traders have looked at some of the biggest transfers that happened over the last couple of months as well as some of the ones that didn't!
The 7 Most Expensive Buys By British Clubs – Summer 2015
Kevin de Bruyne - £52.5 million
Wolfsburg to Manchester City
It took all summer but Kevin de Bruyne finally made his move to City on the last day – a very high fee and “incredible” wage offer convinced Wolfsburg and de Bruyne that it was worth moving from the Bundesliga to the Premier League.
Raheem Sterling - £43 million
Liverpool to Manchester City
Manchester City take the first and second spot when it comes to splashing the cash this summer. Sterling has started the season brightly for City and looks to be forming a formidable new SAS partnership with Aguero and Silva.
Anthony Martial - £36 million
Monaco to Manchester United
It takes an experienced FIFA player to know who Anthony Martial is, but United don't seem to mind having just spent £36 million which could rise to £58 million on this teenager. The player only received a 69 rating on FIFA 15 but his electrifying pace could make him a good addition to the squad...only time will tell.
Christian Benteke- £32.5 million
Aston Villa to Liverpool
Was £32.5 million too much for the Belgium international? Liverpool have failed in the last few seasons with “target men” type strikers (see Rickie Lambert, Mario Balotelli and Andy Carroll) but they are hoping there is more to the former Genk forwards game than that.
Nicolas Otamendi - £31.2 million
Valencia to Manchester City
For a long time he was rumoured to be heading to the red part of Manchester but City jumped in and signed the experienced defender to help bolster their ranks – could form a great partnership with Kompany.
Roberto Firmino - £28.7 million
Hoffenheim to Liverpool
There was a lot of interest in the Brazilian and Liverpool clearly saw him as the creative spark they needed – brought in before Sterling headed out the door, he was one of the earlier signings in the window for the Reds.
Morgan Schneiderlin - £24.5 million
Southampton to Manchester United
Schneiderlin was rumoured to want out for over a year and the French international finally got his wish when United came in and picked him up. Could be a mainstay in the heart of midfield for the Red Devils with a couple of assured appearances already.
7 Signings That Didn't Happen
David De Gea
Manchester United to Real
So who was at fault? Real for being too slow or United for not sending the paperwork on time? Either way this transfer saga has stalled yet it's still quite messy. De Gea hasn't played for United this season but surely being their best option at the back you have to think he will feature soon?
John Stones
Everton to Chelsea
Not even a transfer request from the player himself could convince the Everton board to sell. Stones might be disappointed that he didn't get his big move through but with youth on his side there is no doubt that he still has time to develop and make the step up.
Saido Berahino
West Brom to Tottenham
Well this is a bit awkward...
So it didn't happen during the summer but surely it will in January, either way it's going to be a long winter for the young Englishman.
Edison Cavani
PSG to Arsenal
The papers were all over this story in the final few days of the transfer window but apparently Arsenal refused to pay £50 million for a 28 year old who would have little resale value. The Gunners could have done with a striker, especially of this pedigree but they will probably settle for the usual fourth spot and a good cup run again this year.
Victor Wanyama
Southampton to Tottenham
A lot of noise coming out of Southampton that Wanyama was keen on a move to the capital. Tottenham couldn't push the deal through though and it appears the former Celtic star will be sticking on the South coast for the time being.
Emmanuel Adebayor
Tottenham to Aston Villa
Apparently the Togolese striker wasn't too keen on a move to the Midlands despite a deal being agreed between the two clubs. Adebayor would certainly have added some fire power at Villa and with Spurs buying a couple of strikers in the window his days in London certainly seem numbered.
Charlie Austin
QPR to anywhere
After such a promising debut season in the Premier League with 18 goals it will be disappointing not to see Charlie Austin again this term. Apparently there were no clubs interested in paying the £15 million that QPR wanted - West Ham came closest but thought there might be some injury problems still hanging around...Austin knows different though.
7 Signings To Watch Out For
Bakary Sako – Free
Wolves to Palace
Paul Merson has already tipped Sako as his signing of the summer and after 2 appearances and 2 goals it's not hard to see why. Whether the Mali international can keep this up is yet to be seen but he is certainly one to watch this year.
Gokhan Inler – Undisclosed
Napoli to Leicester
Replacing Esteban Cambiasso isn't an easy task although Leicester may have just found a way of getting the experience back in the middle. Capped over 80 times for Switzerland, Inler also has Champions League experience and should be a fantastic addition to the Foxes.
Adama Traore– £7 million
Barcelona to Aston Villa
Quite a large fee for someone with only one appearance in the Barcelona first team although the winger did feature for Barca B 63 times. Having been with the Spanish giants since he was eight years old it will be interesting to see how he adapts – if his first couple of appearances are anything to go by though he will certainly be a hit.
Virgil Van Dijk – £11.5 million
Celtic to Southampton
Van Dijk made the move on deadline day after a summer of speculation. Celtic perhaps paid the price for failing to qualify for the Champions League and will be disappointed the Dutch international has left although the Saints needed some strengthening at the back.
Xherdan Shaqiri – £12 million
Inter Milan to Stoke
From Bayern Munich to Inter Milan to Stoke, 2015 has been quite an eventful year for Shaqiri. £12 million seems like a bit of a bargain for a player who performed well at the World Cup last year and he will definitely be one to watch this season.
Andre Ayew – Free
Marseille to Swansea
Ayew drew the attention of several Premier League clubs but it was Swansea that convinced him to sign and with 4 appearances and 3 goals so far this season it is a great start for the Ghanian international. At 25 years old his best days are surely ahead of him so this looks like a great signing for the Swans.
Dimitri Payet – Undisclosed
Marseille to West Ham
Another import from the French league – Payet is being tipped by many as one to watch. With a goal to his name already the attacking midfield looks like he is bringing a lot of energy and pace to West Ham which will surely make him a fan favourite.
