Goalkeeper – Gomes gets a raw deal. Perhaps he is often error-prone, often to comical levels, but the Brazilian stopper is a decent goalkeeper and has enough quality to be in the Premier League.
He didn’t make a league appearance last season, and now has Hugo Lloris, Brad Friedel and Carlo Cudicini to contend with. Gomes is simply being wasted and is definitely the best fourth choice keeper in the league.
