It would be hard to find a more misunderstood player in the Premier League; Berbatov arrived at Old Trafford in the summer of 2008 for a fee in the region of £30million from Tottenham.
After a slow start to his United career, he had a brilliant 2010-11, finishing as the club’s top scorer; but it did not stop the Bulgarian being inexplicably left out of the squad to face Barcelona in the 2011 Champions League final.
This led to a gradual decline in his career at Old Trafford, resulting in a summer move to Fulham in August.
