It has not been a good fortnight or so for Chelsea with defeats against Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and PSG but you can never write off a Jose Mourinho side.

It has almost felt as if Liverpool and Manchester City were thought to be in a two horse race but that is a dangerous statement to make, especially with the Blues now top of the table!

How can a team top of the league be considered massive outsiders with just six games to go?

Here is why we think Chelsea are still bang in the title race.

Fixtures

Chelsea travel to Liverpool on the 27 of this month, but apart from that it is hard to see where the Blues are going to slip up.

The rest of their games are against sides in the bottom half and struggling to find their own form.

Whatever Mourinho says to the press, he will be saying something very different behind closed doors, but that game at Anfield is massive.

Experience

The majority of this Blues team has been there and done it.

You look at Mourinho, Lampard, Terry, Ivanovic and Cech and just think success.

They have been in this sort of situation before and surely have the know-how to get through these tough games where lesser teams will come to sit ten men behind the ball and defend.

Squad options

Unlike Liverpool, Chelsea can make a number of changes to their team and still look just as strong, as they did today.

Stoke was a game that could have really been a banana skin, but Chelsea were professional and the so called squad players stepped up to the mark.

Defensively they have looked shaky in recent weeks but it was back to the usual form today which will please Mourinho.
