Tottenham have been linked with promising youth striker Patrick Bamford from Chelsea. The 20 year old has been a revelation during his loan spells away from Stamford Bridge. Bamford has already struck 22 goals this year, 17 for MK Dons and 5 for Derby County. His performances have not gone unnoticed, and with first team football predicted to be hard to come by at Chelsea, many clubs are monitoring the young forward’s situation.
According to reports, Tottenham has made Bamford one of their main targets, with boss Tim Sherwood willing to provide the player with first team football right away. Time will tell if Sherwood remains at the helm next season, and if the club’s transfer priorities remain the same. It is also assumed that Jose Mourinho rates the player highly as well, and may look to integrate him into the Chelsea set up in the future.
Bamford is gaining recognition for his ability and awareness in the box, as well as his hold up play. It will be seen as a major coup is Tottenham are able to pull off the signing.
