There have been some great moments for Spurs in their history in European competitions. Inspired by the likes of Jimmy Greaves and Glenn Hoddle, Tottenham have won the UEFA Cup twice and the Cup Winners' Cup once.
Important for Tottenham is their ability to play well at White Hart Lane. The fact that it is a fortress proceeds this season’s European fixtures. In the days when 50,000 people used to cram in to watch a match the stadium would be literally rocking. These days, White Hart Lane only holds 36,000, but the atmosphere is still as close and intimidating as anywhere.
