Wag Weekly: Villa’s Sidwell bags himself a beauty!

Sidwell2Dubiously cited by Sky News as ‘Britain’s most popular Wag’ (please show your working), it was Krystell who stepped to the defence of her profession when it came under scrutiny by then culture minister Barbra Follet.

Offended at claims that “girls are doing anything to get famous nowadays” and that “our nation is in danger of being Barbie dolled”, Sidwell responded, pointing out that “people judge on the basis of what they see, not what people are actually doing.” Which- notwithstanding the fact that I’m not entirely convinced this wasn’t the same point Follet herself was making- was a nice bit of pithy eloquence.

The type of pithy eloquence, in fact, which may have came in handy for a certain ex-minster when unconvincingly defending her right to defer to the public the payments on her four storeys Soho property, the accompanying home security team and the costs to mend any wear and tear to her expensive Chinese needlepoint rugs located within the property being so rigorously guarded at no extra cost to the home owner, or, indeed, her multi- millionaire husband, both of whom presumably got a bit more use out of the amenities than those of us footing the bill.  (Actually, if we’re looking to afford further charges, probably best to foot it with our shoes off.)

Sidwell

It must be conceded, though, that even allowing for security’s shift rotations, wear and tear on such a localised area as a rug in a home spanning four stories takes some doing.  And Sidwell, we can be confident, will have been pleased to see that, in this instance at least, this is exactly what the public based their judgements on.

Now unemployed, Follet spends her time at home with husband Ken, drawing interesting parallels with the doll Barbie.  Someone ought to pick her up on that.
