Barcelona star Alexis Sanchez has agreed to a five-year £150,000-a-week contract with Arsenal and is on route to London for a medical, Metro reports.
The Gunners are set to complete the estimated £32million move after the Chilean accepted the London club’s five-year contract offer.
The Chilean international had an impressive World Cup, only losing out to semi-finalists Brazil in the round-of-sixteen via a penalty shoot-out and was on high demand.
However Arsenal have warded off interest from Liverpool, Juventus, and AC Milan to agree personal terms with the Barcelona winger.
Sanchez was deemed surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp by new coach Luis Enrique and according to RAC1 radio, the former Udinese man will double his salary after previously earning £75,000-a-week in Barcelona to £150,000-a-week at the Emirates.
Although Sanchez had a career best of 21 goals last season, the 25-year-old was told he can leave in the summer and should complete the move to Arsenal by the end of the week.
Meanwhile Arsenal are also set to sign Newcastle defender Mathieu Debuchy, who has confirmed he will be playing at the Emirates next season.
