AC Milan have open talks to sign Arsenal forward Joel Campbell, according to Calciomercato.
The Costa Rica star was instrumental in his nation’s shock World Cup run, only crashing out to third place Holland in the quarter-finals via a penalty shoot-out.
And his impressive performances have captured the attention of Europe’s elite, with Serie A giants AC Milan most keen in his services.
Reports from Italy have suggested that the San Siro club have begun talks with the Gunners in the attempts to sign the 22-year-old youngster this summer.
However Campbell has insisted he wants to be part of Arsene Wenger’s set-up next season amid a host of loan offers from smaller Premier League clubs.
Yet if Milan boss Filippo Inzaghi offers the former Olympiacos attacker a guaranteed run in the first team, Campbell could reconsider his stance and make the move to Italy.
The seven-time European champions are expected to make a concrete offer in the coming days while on pre-season tour in the United States.
