AC Milan are said to be negotiating a potential deal to sign Chelsea’s £50million flop Fernando Torres on loan to serve as a replacement for Mario Balotelli, Metro reports.
The Italian striker recent joined Liverpool for an agreed fee of £16million as Milan are considering options to add into their forward line.
The Serie A side isn’t willing to make the deal permanent as they consider Torres’ £150,000-a-week wages to be too high given his huge fall in form over the past few seasons.
Despite his huge fee, the 30-year-old striker somehow failed to make any real impact at Stamford Bridge as Milan are currently preparing to take him off Jose Mourinho’s hands by offering a loan move.
He could be close to an exit after the Blues boss excluded him from his sides latest 2-0 victory against newly promoted Leicester.
During his four years at the club, the Spaniard made 110 appearances, but only managed to net 20 goals, a very low tally given his £50million price tag as well as his impressive scoring records at former clubs Atletico Madrid and Liverpool.
