Serie A giants AC Milan are looking to sign Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel on a season-long loan, Metro reports.
The Blues have been enquired over the availability of the Dutch midfielder by Milan, who are set to be without captain Ricardo Montolivo until the middle of November with a broken leg.
Van Ginkel only signed for Jose Mourinho’s men last summer, but sustained an injury in Chelsea’s Capital One Cup match in September last year, forcing him out the entire season.
Since the injury, Chelsea have signed two midfielders in Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas, pushing the Dutchman down the centre midfield pecking order.
And with the Blues still required to offload foreign players to meet the Premier League foreign player quota, a loan move for Van Ginkel to the San Siro could be beneficial for both parties.
The 21-year-old’s agent has already admitted his client could leave Stamford Bridge this summer, boosting AC Milan’s hopes of signing the former Vitesse starlet.
