Davide Santon’s agent has revealed his client’s intention to remain at Newcastle United despite heavy interest from Serie A clubs, especially AC Milan, Daily Mail reports.
The Italian star is ready to sign a contract extension with the Magpies which will keep him in England, therefore washing away any chances of Milan trying to snap up their defender.
His agent, Renzo Contratto, recently said: “Santon is happy at Newcastle and has just been offered a new contract,” Contratto told ASRadioRoma.
“Other teams want him? They’re just rumours.”
Playing at full back, Santon has been in consistent form ever since his move from Inter Milan back in 2011 and has made 93 appearances for the English side over the course of three years.
He is regarded as an important asset to the club due to his ability to be used effectively down both defensive flanks but has only managed to scored one goal in his three seasons at St James’ Park.
