Chelsea striker Fernando Torres is looking to complete a move to AC Milan this weekend, with his agents in London to discuss a permanent transfer to the Serie A giants, Daily Mail reports.
Torres’ representatives are in negotiations over the striker’s severance pay from the Blues if he does make the switch to Milan.
The seven-time European champions sold star attacker Mario Balotelli to Liverpool for £16million last weekend, and have made the Spaniard their number one target to fill the void.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is looking to offload the former Liverpool star – who currently earns £150,000 a week – in order to make room for possibly another striker.
Roma’s Mattia Destro has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge of late, but Torres has to leave to pave way for a transfer.
AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani confirmed his interest, stating: “Our goal is to take a great striker. Fernando Torres? He is a great striker. Let’s see if he comes or someone else. We are actively working.”
Chelsea has however stalled negotiations after learning that new signing Diego Costa could miss up to five weeks with a hamstring injury.
