West Ham United have been given a transfer boost after their £7 million bid for Cheikhou Kouyate was accepted by Anderlecht, Daily Mail reports.
The Senegalese player, who can be deployed as a defender as well as a midfielder, could become the club’s second signing after Mauro Zarate recently join from Velez Sarsfield.
With Sam Alardyce needing to add some extra defensive reinforcements into his side, Kouyate is being closely monitored.
However, the Hammerswill face stiff competition from Valencia, who also had their offer accepted by the Belgian side with the player now having to chose between the pair.
In addition to the pair mentioned above, Alardyce looks to fulfil the owners wishes of playing more entertaining football by targeting Manchester City trio, Joleon Lescott, Micah Richards, and Costel Pantilimon.
Big Sam is looking to give the squad a much needed push in his bids to raise them to a higher position in the English Premier League.
