Andre Villas-Boas has been sacked after an unconvincing start to the Premier League season.

Sitting in 7th place and a goal difference of -6, AVB failed to deliver exciting, attacking football to the Spurs fans after a heavy influx of players over the summer transfer period.

The Portuguese manager was in his second season in charge of Spurs, after splashing out over £100million on transfers to replace star man Gareth Bale, who left for Real Madrid in the summer.

Spurs conceded five goals at home to Liverpool in the weekend’s fixture and have conceded 9 in their last 4 Premier League fixtures, which has prompted the club to make the change.

A club statement read:

“The club can announce that agreement has been reached with head coach Andre Villas-Boas for the termination of his services.”

“The decision was by mutual consent and in the interests of all parties.”
