Liverpool legend Michael Owen believes that Chelsea will be crowned Premier League champions this coming season, with Arsenal set to miss out on a top four spot, Express reports.

Owen, who also had a stint at Manchester United, tips the Blues to come out on top after securing the signing of Atletico Madrid goal-machine Diego Costa.

Writing for BetVictor, Owen wrote: “I felt the Achilles heel for Jose Mourinho’s side last season was the inability of their strikers to score goals.

“I feel recent £32m signing Diego Costa is the final piece of the jigsaw for the West London outfit and I fully expect his goals to change a very good side into a title-winning one.

“Ironically the Club have never adequately replaced Blues’ legend Didier Drogba and whilst the Ivorian is not going to be the same player second time around I expect him to pick up his fair share of goals and have a positive effect around the Club.”

On the other hand, Owen has also boldly predicted that Arsenal will not be a top four team for the first time since the appointment of Arsene Wenger.

“Despite the fact that Liverpool have lost the best player in the League and will have European football to contend with next term I still think they will finish above Arsenal in the battle for what I believe is the final Champions League position.”

Owen had a spectacular career during his time at Liverpool from 1996-2004, scoring 158 goals in 297 appearances.

who really listens to anything that this sqawking, bindipping midget says. It’s his brainless opinion, but not the opinion of any other sensible ex-player. He should just STFU.

Prediction: Owen to trip over his own feet, fall flat on his face and bloody his own nose.

Just goes to show that few footballers have brains. Lets all do punditry. Talk is cheap and TRP is king.

I think that’s personal opinion, I’m not seeing Liverpool FC ahead of Arsenal FC. I think he should break it down properly. Merry words do not count in football. Mr Owen should gives his point(s). And i think Mr. Owen is only in a jealous mood against Arsenal Fc.

Yea he is too jealous over Arsenal therefore I don’t see he is doing his job as a pundit rather than taking his words into a personal matter.

Liverpool legend, Michael Owen? That’s a laugh. Is he a Liverpool legend? As if he served Liverpool until his retirement. He left for Real Madrid because he thought he was too good for Liverpool. If Arsenal had bought him when he was looking for a club, he would have predicted Arsenal finishing in the top four. He predicts Man U to be in top 4. Anyone would wonder if they can improve their 7th place standing this season especially with a new manager. He should be more worried about how Liv would do without Suarez (his bite worse than his kick). These are more interesting questions to consider rather than predicting Arsenal finishing outside top 4. They managed CL football with a lone striker and injuries last season. Now with Sanchez and new additions, Arsenal can only finish higher – maybe 2nd or 3rd. Anyway, it looks like Owen is going to lick his vomit again at the end of the season.
