Sporting Lisbon’s Marcos Rojo is said to have handed in a transfer request after he learned about a £15.9 million bid from Manchester United, Metro reports.
The 24-year-old is already a target for a host of English Premier League clubs, with Chelsea, Liverpool, and Southampton all interested in his services.
He impressed for the Argentina national team during their impressive run to the World Cup finals before being beaten 1-0 in extra-time by Germany.
With Louis van Gaal intensifying his chase for the left-back, Rojo hinted that he was on his way to Old Trafford via his Instagram account and is also believed to have told his club that he wanted to follow through on the move.
Luke Shaw is the only actual left-back at United, but with Ashley Young beginning to impress his manager in that role, the addition of the Argentine will surely add extra competition and motivation for the pair.
