He impressed for the Argentina national team during their impressive run to the World Cup finals before being beaten 1-0 in extra-time by Germany.

With Louis van Gaal intensifying his chase for the left-back, Rojo hinted that he was on his way to Old Trafford via his Instagram account and is also believed to have told his club that he wanted to follow through on the move.

Luke Shaw is the only actual left-back at United, but with Ashley Young beginning to impress his manager in that role, the addition of the Argentine will surely add extra competition and motivation for the pair.

i dont think Rojo is just competition for luke shaw i believe van gaal will be thinking of playing him as a central defender which is actually his favorite position, i think he will be a good signing if he arrives at utd.
