Chile attacker Eduardo Vargas is deemed surplus to requirements at Napoli and could be available for just £9million, alerting Arsenal and Chelsea, Mirror reports.
Napoli manager Rafa Benitez is unconvinced by Vargas’ abilities, despite the Chilean’s impressive performance in knocking defending World Cup champions Spain out of the competition.
The 24-year-old scored the opening goal in their 2-0 win over Spain, helping the South American side secure a place in the Round-of-16.
And Benitez could let Vargas leave for just £9million this summer.
The forward spent a season on loan at La Liga side Valencia last season, with his displays enough to earn him a call to the Chile World Cup squad.
Vargas’ agents are now looking for an exit plan, with several English clubs interested in his services.
Arsenal and Chelsea were previously linked with the World Cup star, but chose to join Napoli back in 2012.
With Napoli looking to offload the player, the Premier League duo could make a summer swoop after the World Cup finishes next month.
