AC Milan have ruled out a potential return to Premier League football for Mario Balotelli, despite heavy interest from Arsenal and Chelsea, Metro reports.
Rumours in the past week have linked the controversial striker with a move away from the Italian side after they revealed to be willing to let him leave.
However, all interested parties will now be halted with the recent announcement made by club owner Silvio Berlusconi who now looks like he wants to keep the Italian international in the squad for next season.
“AC Milan must return to have a lead role in Italy, in Europe and in the world,” he said.
“Balotelli? I believe that he will stay and will be part of the new team.”
Having previously played for Manchester City, Balotelli scored 14 goals in 30 Serie A appearances for Milan this past season and is now looking to improve his credentials for Italy at the upcoming World Cup.
