Diego Costa is not interested in a move to either Arsenal or Chelsea, according to Atletico Madrid’s director of football, reports the Daily Mail.
Jose Luis Caminero is confident that the Brazilian forward – who has committed his international future to Spain – will remain with the La Liga side, despite strong interest from the Premier League big guns.
Costa has managed 19 goals in 17 league appearances this season, form which has established him as one of the most wanted forwards in Europe.
However Caminero insists Atletico’s main man will be going nowhere.
He said in an interview with Marca: ‘Right now Costa does not think of leaving, he is contracted to Atletico.
‘He has renewed with us which is important. He has shown that he wants to continue at this club.’
Costa only signed a new contract with the La Liga giants in the summer, following an official bid from Liverpool.
However, the new deal is understood to include a £32million buy-out-clause, although Arsenal are thought to be unwilling to meet the valuation.
Should Costa eventually decide he does want to depart, than Atletico are thought to have eyed Aston Villa’s Christian Benteke as a replacement.
The 23-year-old Belgian has looked a shadow of the player who took the Premier League by storm last season, managing just five goals this season – the last of which came on September 14th.
