Arsenal and Tottenham are boosted in their bids to sign Bernard after Shaktar Donetsk revealed that they are willing to send him out on loan, Express reports.
The pacey winger was on the verge of a English Premier League switch at the start of the previous season but chose to make a move to join the Ukrainian side instead.
However, due to the current political unrest in Ukraine, the Brazilian star is considering a switch elsewhere amidst growing fears for his safety.
“I admit I was afraid to return to Ukraine but I still plan to come back to Donetsk on 18 August.” he said earlier.
A season long loan for either the Gunners or Spurs is a high possibility as the club won’t be willing to secure a permanent move for their star player after only signing him a year ago for £22million.
A Shaktar club source told Izvestia: “It is necessary to seek a compromise.
“It is obvious the Brazilian does not want to stay in Ukraine, where he will only complain and spoil the atmosphere in the team.
“In such a situation it is better to give the Brazilian a one year loan.
“If Bernard is able to establish himself well [at another club] Shaktar will then be in a better position to negotiate a subsequent sale.”
