Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is not showing any happiness at his team finishing fourth this season, as reported by talkSPORT.

The Gunners are now certain of finishing fourth, like last season, but there will be no celebrating this time around as there was at St James’ Park on the final day of the season last time out.

Arsenal were top of the table at Christmas but have fallen away considerably although they have won their last four games in a row.

An FA Cup final is still on the horizon for Wenger’s side but the Frenchman knows a trick was missed this season.

“This year has been a certain degree of progress and frustration as well because when you’re close [to the top] you think a lot about the games you could have won and we didn’t win,” Wenger said.

“But overall I think if you look at the performance of the team in the FA Cup, the Champions League and the Premier League, we have been very consistent and very serious.

“We lack maybe a few goals in the Premier League and we’ve conceded too many in the big games and that’s where we lost the title this season.”
