Arsenal Boss Believes Every Game Is A Cup Final
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is delighted with the Gunners’ recent form that has seen them win away at Bayern Munich and Swansea in the space of four days.
The North London side were knocked out of the Champions League in midweek despite being one of very few teams that win at the Allianz Arena.
The Gunners followed up their shallow victory in Germany with an emphatic win in South Wales leaving Arsenal back in fifth place chasing Tottenham and Chelsea, who both play today, for the top four.
Both of Arsenal’s rivals for the Champions League spots face banana skin London Derby’s today and the Gunners will begin to believe that the top four is a real possibility if either or both of them slip up.
Wenger is clearly thrilled with Arsenal’s recent turn in form and is confident that his side can overtake at least one of the sides directly above them in the league table.
“I’m very pleased and proud of the attitude of the team,” said Wenger.
“They’ve shown great solidarity and great spirit. We have shown we are ready for a fight and we are ready to give it our all until the end of the season.
“I told the players that if we put in top performances every game then we will do it.
“The team know that every game is a cup final now.”
