Many Gunners fans wanted the club to sign a striker in January but that wasn’t to be and Kallstrom remained the lone signing for the high flying North Londoners.
Kallstrom arrived on loan from Spartak Moscow on deadline day and Wenger now has options in midfield as he looked light on numbers with injuries and suspensions evident.
Jack Wilshere is doubtful to face Crystal Palace and Aaron Ramsey has been ruled out for a further six weeks. Mathieu Flamini is suspended and Theo Walcott is out for the season to pile the misery on the Gunners who lost top spot in the Premier League this week.
Wenger is hopeful that Kallstrom can make a difference with a run of key, difficult fixtures on the horizon.
“Kim Kallstrom is a hugely-experienced player,” Wenger said.
“He is a midfielder with proven quality at both club and international level. We welcome Kim to Arsenal.”
