Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has publicly taken the blame after his team’s embarrassing defeat at Chelsea yesterday, as reported by talkSPORT.

The Gunners were thrashed 6-0 at Stamford Bridge yesterday and despite a dubious red card, they were thoroughly outplayed.

Wenger knows that Arsenal’s title push may now be over and now a battle to finish fourth once again is well and truly on.

The North London club now have the FA Cup to focus on, but to qualify for the Champions League is still the main aim after a demoralising defeat at Chelsea yesterday.

“It was a nightmare, I take full responsibility for it,” said the French boss.

“It leaves it [Arsenal’s title push] in a very bad situation, but we want to respond now.

“Today is a huge disappointment, when you don’t turn up in a game of that stature nobody will take the result easily.

“The players are deeply disappointed, as are we all, but we have an opportunity to respond on Tuesday, so we’ll just prepare for the next game now.”
