Arsenal will be resigning Carlos Vela after Real Sociedad confirmed the striker will be playing at the Emirates next season, Express reports.
This will be Vela’s second stint at the north London club after the former Gunner failed to find regular first-team action.
However the Mexican has been in top form for Sociedad this past season, scoring 21 goals and providing 13 assists with the Spanish outfit.
The 25-year-old recently stated he would love to return and work under Arsene Wenger again, with the Gunners ready to activate the £3.2million buy-back clause inserted in his contract.
And Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay confirmed the deal, stating: “Arsenal have informed us that Vela would be with them next season.”
The forward is set to become the Gunners’ first signing this summer as he aims to help them build on their FA Cup triumph.
“Arsenal gave me the opportunity to come to Europe when I was 17. I didn’t have as many opportunities as I expected and I had to try new options,” Vela said.
“If I have to return to London, I will try to make things in a different way so what happened in the past won’t be repeated again.”
