Arsenal join Tottenham in transfer pursuit of Frenchman

Arsenal have joined North London rivals Tottenham in their pursuit of Sochaux’s right back Sebastien Corchia, according to the Daily Mail.

Arsene Wenger is looking to recruit a new right back as doubts still remain over Bacary Sagna’s long term future, given the Frenchman is still refusing to put pen to paper on a contract extension at the Emirates.

The North Londoners do have Carl Jenkinson within their ranks already, but Wenger is looking to add numbers to a squad that has been somewhat threadbare at times this season.

The Gunners are looking at a variety of options with Feyenoord’s Daryl Janmaat also heavily linked, but Corchia is the latest name to emerge as the young Frenchman is having an excellent season in Ligue 1 this year.

Arsenal can expect competition for his signature; not only from their North London rivals, but Serie A giants Juventus are also keen on his services.
