Former Arsenal midfielder Gilberto Silva believes this is year that Arsenal finally get their hands back on the Premier League trophy, as reported by talkSPORT.

The Gunners look in fine form, four points clear of Chelsea in second and the signing of Mesut Ozil looks to have given Arsenal the boost they needed.

It is nearly nine years since Arsenal last won a trophy and Silva was part of that squad, as well as the ‘invincibles’ side that seems a distant memory now.

The Brazilian legend was impressed with Tuesday’s performance against Hull and insists this is the year that Arsene Wenger delivers that title again.

“I watched them against Hull and they played a really nice game and very good football” Gilberto told talkSPORT.

“It’s what we expect from them and I hope this year they can win the league. I’ll be here cheering them on and supporting them from outside England.

“They have the chance this year because they are doing very well at the moment. It’s important after December and when they start January that they keep playing well, strong as they are and united as they are.

“It will be very crucial but I am very confident they can achieve it this year.”
